Roles We're Recruiting External ReviewerWhen submissions require domain expertise beyond the Board's knowledge, we invite external experts for double-blind peer review.
Responsibilities:
- Review manuscripts in your area of expertise when invited (estimated 2–6 per year)
- Submit review reports within 3 weeks
- Follow double-blind review protocols

- Published critics, essayists, or cultural commentators with demonstrated analytical depth
- Industry professionals with scholarly interests
We value competence over credentials. Formal academic qualifications are valued but not strictly required. What matters most is the ability to evaluate intellectual quality and provide constructive, fair feedback.
How to ApplyTo apply as a reviewer, simply check the "Register as Reviewer" option when creating your account on our submission system, then complete your reviewing preferences profile. You'll be asked to specify:
- Subject expertise (e.g., sociology, media studies, law, game studies, fan culture)
- ACGN domain interests (e.g., specific anime genres, manga/manhua traditions, game genres, light novels, VTuber culture)
- Working languages for review (English, Chinese, Japanese, etc.)
- Brief statement of relevant background, publications, or industry experience
The editorial team will match invitations to your declared expertise. Existing users can enable reviewer status or update preferences anytime via "My Profile" → "Reviewing Interests."
No separate application form is required — your registration profile is your application.
